About Captain Michael Dodd

Captain Michael Dodd grew up in the port city of Baltimore on the Chesapeake Bay. This area is known as the “Land of Pleasant Living.”  Michael’s father introduced him to boating as a youngster and the family spent many grand times exploring the beautiful Bay. These fond memories stayed with him and, later in life, he took sailing lessons at the Annapolis Sailing School and became active in the Bay sailing community.

Over the years, Michael owned several sailboats including two boats with partners. Eventually, he took an interest in powerboating and owned ski boats, center console fishing boats and overnight motor boats.

With Michael’s considerable experience on the Bay, he decided to test for a US Coast Guard commercial Captain’s License. In 2016, he obtained a 50-ton Inland Captain’s License with Masters Upgrade.  He has owned three motor yachts, the last being a 61-foot Hatteras.
